Each year, INRA recruits tenured researchers and engineers and welcomes several hundred foreign researchers and students.

Permanent researchers of all nationalities are recruited through a competitive process to select highly-qualified candidates. They are tenured from the start, and they can express their creativity and reach a level of excellence for the pleasure of discovering and developing effective applications useful to society today. Permanent engineers of all nationalities are selected using the same competitive procedure. They have major technical and managerial responsibilities.

INRA is recruiting 37 research scientists until 4 March 2019. You can no longer apply.

Whatever scientific discipline they have been trained in, researchers depend on laboratory and field activities. Involved in scientific networks, they respond to environmental, economic and social issues. In striving for excellence, they discover and create concrete applications, useful for society. Personal research and collective projects overlap to advance knowledge and to contribute to innovation, whether it means producing sustainably, preserving the environment or improving human nutrition.

Each year, INRA organises open competitions to recruit research scientists (CRCN). The recruitment campaign is generally aimed at young researchers who have recently obtained their PhD. Candidates are recruited on the basis of their scientific competence which they will put to the service of INRA's major research axes by responding to a research topic. Candidates must have published articles on the results of their PhD.

Key activities and required skills
Extracellular vesicles secreted by breast tissue in milk represent a new class of mediators of cell-to-organism communication. They contain molecules, which when integrated by the recipient cell, induce phenotypic changes. Through integrative approaches combining genomics and physiology, the recruited scientist will undertake research to understand the origin of extracellular milk vesicles, their content and its variability, and analyse their effects on the mammary epithelium and on the construction of the young's phenotypes. He/she will be able to exploit the animal models (mouse, rabbit, ruminant) with modifications of the milk composition developed within the team or in collaboration. The genetic effects on the composition of extracellular vesicles will be analyzed in collaboration with geneticists working on the genetic determinism of dairy traits in ruminants.
Training required
PhD or equivalent. Training in animal science with a specialisation in animal genetics is highly recommended. Training in functional genomics and/or cell biology is an advantage. Having completed training in animal experimentation is a plus. Candidates should have a good command of English, and long-term international experience would also be desirable. Successful candidates who have not yet acquired postdoctoral training will be required to do so, preferably abroad, after their probationary period (1st year).
