Description

Working environment

Anaerobic digestion of organic wastes produces biogas, a renewable energy, and digestate, used as an organic fertilizer. As all fertilizers, the spreading of digestate emits ammonia, an atmospheric pollutant. The internship will consist in calibrating and evaluating a NH3 emission model specifically about those products in using available emission data from field and controlled conditions measurments. The use of the calibrated model will enable to better interpret field emissions.

Training and skills required

Master 2 in environmental sciences, agronomy, or modelling

Abilities and/or experience in programmation, modelling, statistics (R or Python)

Basic knowledge of agronomy, physico-chemical equilibria, soil-atmosphere interactions, parametrization and use of models
