Florian Maumus, from the garden to the lab

Discovering the extraordinary garden of Florian Maumus, a bioinformatics specialist passionate about plants and genomics. A researcher in the Genomics-Informatics Unit at INRA’s Île-de-France – Versailles-Grignon Research Centre, he receives the 2017 Promising Researcher Award.

“A major European and international player in plant genomics” that is how Florian Maumus likes to talk about the Institute. With 48 publications in the most prestigious international scientific journals, he who had dreamed of horticulture and market gardening has found in research the perfect fit for his personality and a chance to step off the beaten track and explore life.
