Sophie Layé, Director of the laboratory of Nutrition and Integrative Neurobiology (NutrINeurO) at INRA in Bordeaux-Aquitaine, is the winner of the 2015 Scientific Breakthrough Award. Prívate screening in the office of a brain in nutrition research.

Research director for 12 years at INRA, Sophie Layé seeks to understand how nutrition influences the central nervous system and brain functioning. Co-director of an international laboratory, she wants to develop research on the relationship between perinatal nutrition and brain development. An opening made possible at INRA whose strength is, according to her, being a pluridisciplinary institute interested in social issues.
