“Innovation is in our genes”, so they say in this lab which has obtained 7 patents, 11 licensing agreements and created two start-ups in the field of methane production. Transforming knowledge into solutions to remove pollution, finding uses for waste and building a more sustainable society is second nature for the LBE. Its collaborative research and partnerships with industrial groups or small- and medium-sized companies, its involvement in training, are also part of the research activities of this lab which is number one on the world stage for its publications in the field of methane production. Scientific leadership for 30 years, with major scientific advances in the development of large-scale systems (e.g. preprocessing of organic matter, microbial biofilms, processes) and in microbial community ecology.
